Privacy Policy
Your privacy should feel respected, not extracted.
This page explains how information shared through this website may be handled, in clear language and with a light touch.
Information You Share
If you complete a form, join The Becoming Letter, or enquire about working together, the information you provide may include your name, email address and anything you choose to write in the message fields.
How It May Be Used
Your information may be used to respond to your enquiry, send occasional reflections or updates you have consented to receive, and understand how people interact with the site.
Becoming Not Fixing Accounts
When you create a Becoming Not Fixing account, the service stores your name, verified email address, authentication provider, securely hashed password when email sign-in is used, timezone, Becoming start date, daily card choices, chapter progress, letters, and the truths you choose to keep. Programme-day boundaries and each Moment's recorded date are calculated using Africa/Johannesburg calendar dates; the saved account timezone no longer controls programme unlocks. Skipped dates remain unfilled rather than being reassigned to a later visit. This makes your private journey available after you sign in on another device.
Your optional archive notes are stored with the truth you keep and are scoped to your authenticated account. They are not used for analytics, training, personalisation, or marketing. Notes, kept truths, and archive identifiers are not placed in public URLs or shared through public profile pages.
Optional Becoming Moment Reminders
If you choose to enable Becoming Moment reminders, we use only the channel or channels you select to tell you when your next reflection is available. Email and browser notifications are optional and independent. You can enable either one, both, or neither, and change either choice at any time in Reminder preferences. Withdrawing a reminder choice does not close your account or remove your reflections.
For email reminders, we use your verified email address, first name, reminder preference, next available session, and limited delivery records. The message does not include your private reflection, note, unchosen card text, password, or a sign-in token.
For browser notifications, your browser creates a subscription for that browser profile and device. We store its push-service endpoint, public encryption key, authentication secret, content encoding, an approximate browser or device description, registration and status dates, and limited delivery records. We do not use this information to fingerprint you or for advertising. You may remove the current device, remove all devices, or separately revoke notification permission in your browser or operating-system settings.
We rely on your voluntary, specific consent for each reminder channel. Reminder consent is specific to the Becoming Moment programme and does not include newsletters, promotions, cross-selling, or unrelated marketing. Email is sent through Xneelo's authenticated SMTP service. Browser notifications travel through the service selected by your browser vendor, which may include Apple, Google, Microsoft, or Mozilla infrastructure and may involve processing outside South Africa under that provider's terms. Notification content is limited, and private reflections are not given to notification providers.
We keep reminder preferences, consent and prompt history, subscription lifecycle records, delivery records, and audit events while your account exists. When a subscription is revoked or definitively invalid, its complete endpoint and encryption secrets are scrubbed immediately while a limited status record may remain. All account-linked reminder records are deleted when the account is deleted. Complete email bodies, private reflections, and full push-subscription secrets are not placed in application logs.
You can withdraw consent in Reminder preferences and may also revoke notification permission in your browser or device settings. For privacy questions or a data-subject request, email connect@fatimaross.com.
Your Archive And Account Controls
You can sign out at any time, clear your private archive after confirmation, withdraw email or browser-reminder consent, remove one or all registered devices, or delete your account from the Account & Privacy screen. Clearing the archive removes kept truths and notes while leaving daily choice records in place. Deleting the account removes the account, its daily choices, kept truths, notes, password-reset records, reminder preferences, consent and prompt history, subscriptions, recipient delivery details, reminder audit events, and job-linked account delivery history.
Consent
Newsletter and enquiry forms include consent checkboxes so expectations are clear before you send anything. You can unsubscribe from emails when that option is available or request removal by contacting Fatima Ross directly.
Cookies
This site may use simple cookies or similar technologies to improve experience and understand site interaction. Becoming Not Fixing uses a secure, HTTP-only session cookie so the server can recognise your signed-in account. Private note content is not sent to analytics.
